Parent Code of Conduct

Presence, Support, and Engagement

Parents are expected to be present and engaged.

• Families are expected to show up for their athletes - physically and mentally.

• Being present means watching the game, supporting the team, and staying engaged throughout competition.

• Parents are expected to cheer positively when any Real Hooperz Only athlete scores or makes a strong play, regardless of whose child is on the court.

• Support is collective. This is a team program.

Parents are encouraged to:

• Remain observant during games

• Check in appropriately with team members when needed (e.g., water, well-being)

• Assist in maintaining a supportive, attentive sideline environment

Passive, disengaged, or dismissive behavior does not align with the culture of Real Hooperz Only.

 

Sportsmanship and Sideline Conduct

• Parents must maintain positive, respectful behavior at all times.

• Yelling instructions, criticizing players, or expressing frustration publicly is not permitted.

• Coaching from the stands is prohibited.

• Displays of disrespect toward officials, opponents, or staff will result in removal.

 

Respect for Coaches and Program Structure

• Coaching decisions, playing time, and strategy are the responsibility of the coaching staff.

• Concerns must be addressed privately, outside of game time, through approved communication channels.

• Sideline confrontations or public challenges to staff authority are prohibited.

 

Social Media Policy (Zero Tolerance)

Real Hooperz Only enforces a strict social media conduct policy.

Any negative, defamatory, misleading, or disrespectful content - whether public or private - directed toward:

• Coaches

• Players

• Officials

• League administration

• Other families or teams

will result in disciplinary action.

 

This applies to all platforms, including but not limited to:

• Instagram

• Facebook

• X (Twitter)

• TikTok

• Group chats

• Direct messages

• Secondary or anonymous accounts

Intent does not override impact.
Content that damages the reputation, trust, or stability of the program will be treated as a violation.

Disciplinary Actions

Violations may result in:

• Immediate removal from the venue

• Suspension from games or practices

• Athlete suspension or removal from the program

• Permanent ban from Real Hooperz Only events

All disciplinary decisions are made by Real Hooperz Only leadership and are final.

 

Accountability

Parents are responsible for:

• Their own behavior

• The conduct of accompanying family members and guests

• Upholding program standards of discipline, unity, and respect

Failure to comply may directly impact an athlete’s ability to continue participation.

 

Program Commitment

Real Hooperz Only is a competitive AAU program, not a recreational league.
Families are expected to match the commitment, effort, and accountability required at this level.
